JAMES 'PRIMO' GRANT
James 'Primo' Grant was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He has worked as a bouncer and currently works security with BPE Entertainment, with his mentor Aaron 'A Dolla' Freeman. At twelve Primo turned “Blood” and after years in the life he has moved on and is working to be a good father to his children, Sincere, Neveah and Emeri and a good fiancé and partner to Tamara, all of whom are also featured in the film (except Emeri who was born a few months ago). FIVE STAR is Primo's feature film debut.


KEITH MILLER
Keith Miller is a filmmaker and artist based in Brooklyn. In 2015, he was named a 2015 Guggenheim Fellow and has been awarded a Jerome Film and Video grant and a Rooftop Production grant.

His most recent feature, FIVE STAR, premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival where it won Best Editing for a Narrative Feature. It had its international premiere at the Venice Biennale and went on to play numerous festivals including Thessaloniki, Cairo, Rio De Janeiro, Seattle, New Orleans and many more. It is distributed in North America by Xlrator Media and internationally by AMC/Sundance International.

His first feature film, Welcome to Pine Hill, was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance Film Festival 2012, the Grand Jury Prize at the Atlanta Film Festival, the FIPRESCI Grand Jury Prize for New American Cinema at the Seattle International Film Festival, a Special Jury Prize for Performance at the Sarasota Film Festival and an Honorable Mention at the Nashville Film Festival. In North America it is distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories and internationally by AMC/Sundance International.

Keith’s paintings, photos and video have been shown in galleries around the world including Mexico, Australia and the US. His most recent solo show was at the Open Source Gallery in Brooklyn. He is a part-time professor at NYU’s Gallatin School and the curator of the Gallatin Galleries.
JOHN DIAZ
John Diaz was born and raised in Manhattan's Lower East Side. He developed a love of acting while doing theater in high school including starring roles in MOUSE TRAP and GREASE. In 2010, he starred in Jeremy Engle's short film MOSQUITO. John also makes music videos, does photography and writes and performs hip hop - going by the name JDBanks. He has been working on music for the past 3 years and has a mixtape out called HIGH2U2, which is a rap duo available on his website high2u2.com. He is currently working on the group's second mixtape and writing his own short movie looking to shoot some time early next year. FIVE STAR is John's feature film debut.
