ArtsEmerson is Boston’s leading presenter of contemporary world theatre. We are dedicated to engaging all communities through stories that reveal and deepen our connection to each other. By cultivating diversity in the art and in the audience, we ignite public conversation around our most vexing societal challenges as a catalyst for overcoming them.

It is with this commitment that we launched the Gaining Ground Fund which elevates and encourages the ambitions of the artists developing work for the world stage that reflects the African Diasporic experience in America. The fund allows us to provide resources that enable artists creating on an epic scale to do so unimpeded by obstacles, remaining free to enliven their vision and control their artistic processes.
